Talpa’s The Next Boy/Girl Band is set to air on TV next year in Thailand, following the acquisition of the talent format by Kantana.

The competition sees two record labels taking on each other to create the next boy/girl band. “Starting off with the looks and moves, the talents must have what it takes to become part of the next pop phenomenon. But that’s not enough ... in the next challenge they have to prove they can really sing,” said Talpa when describing the show.
The format made its debut in the Netherlands in 2016, and has appealed particularly to millennials and 13-17-year-olds through its interactive multi-channel approach, the production company said in a statement. “The generated impressive views on Instagram and YouTube, extremely loyal fan bases for both bands and high rates for online exclusives,” said Talpa.
“The use of new digital voting methods resulted in incredible voting engagement, with over five million votes across the series in Indonesia.”
