Over four million video views have been delivered by the online service of Indian news channel Republic TV since launch in July, its technology partner Brightcove has declared.

Republic TV logoThe online video technology provider says an the average video watch time of over 20 minutes has also been recorded on the new English-language channel’s website, which offers streamed content both live and on-demand.

Republic TV, founded by Arnab Goswami, is soon to release an app to further improve its news distribution options.

Brightcove opened an office in India earlier this year, and Anil Jain, the company’s executive vice president and general manager, says it is reporting a “strong drive” from Indian customers “to innovate”.
