The qualifying match registered the day’s golden minute for Spain’s free-to-air (FTA) TV with 6.29 million viewers and a 31.5% audience share.

Even though these figures are exceptional, the ratings point to a gradual comeback of the public broadcaster in recent months.

After a couple of years with a low average audience, RTVE has managed to once again attract viewers and ended September with an average 17.5% share (up 0.3% month-on-month) as a group, according to Barlovento Comunicación and Kantar. La 1, the main public channel, registered an average 10.8% share, 0.6 points more than the previous month.
