As part of its global licensing push, content distribution company Media IM has secured its first European partner, appointing TF1 Licenses to represent the licensing, merchandising and promotion of its hit pre-school series Sunny Bunnies in France and French-speaking Europe.

sunnybunnies 10oct2017The premium animation and family entertainment specialist’s founders Maria Ufland and Irina Nazarenko brokered the deal with Daphne de Beauffort, head of kids’ content acquisition of TF1 Licenses, part of the French broadcast group’s commercial operations and one of the leading consumer-product agents in its territory. TF1 Licenses will manage the key merchandising and licensing categories for the 52x3.5’ animation produced by Belarus-based Digital Light Studio. TF1 has also acquired the ad-supported video-on-demand (AVOD) and subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) rights, enabling it to cross-promote the animated comedy on TF1’s children’s catch-up service MY TF1 as well as on the SVOD platform TFOUMAX.

We are providing unique digital visibility for the series through our strong free digital platform MYTF1, where kids can discover or find episodes or their favorite heroes under the TFOU section, and continue the experience through TFOUMAX.”

Media IM’s overall licensing strategy is to establish a network of L&M agents covering specific territories and/or regions. The agreement with TF1 Licenses follows on the heels of its first licensing deal struck earlier this year with US partner Evolution, which is representing Sunny Bunnies in North America, Australia and New Zealand.

Nazarenko added: “We have put a lot of thought into the choosing the right pre-school brand partners to help us create a global L&M network for a property that is, in itself, unique. With Sunny Bunnies, we’ve taken a brand new property and sold it into 160 territories around the world. TF1 Licenses presented a clear and focused plan for Sunny Bunnies’ brand development, including supporting the show on TF1’s catch-up service, which is a leader for pre-schoolers in France.
