Mediapro’s Spanish football league channel LaLiga TV has launched across the Asia Pacific region on regional satellite platform AsiaSat.

laligatv 11oct2017The 24-hour HD channel, dedicated to Spain’s top flight football league, will be delivered by AsiaSat 5. LaLiga is one of football’s most avidly followed leagues, boasting teams such as Real Madrid and Barcelona whose stars include Luis Suárez, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The channel will feature scripted programming, English commentaries and La Liga TV’s first English-language live studio show, analysing the fixtures ahead of the first match of each week.

Live matches from LaLiga are offered on pay-TV networks across Asia, via beIN Sports in Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Brunei, Philippines, Singapore; K+ in Vietnam; SPOTV and KBS N Sports in South Korea; PPTV in China, Tawian and Macau; WOWOW in Japan; Geo Super in Pakistan; and Sony Six and Sony Kix in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

In March 2017, La Liga also opened an office in Singapore, with a stated objective to increase its presence and popularity in the region, in particular in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines.
