UAE broadcaster Al Dafrah TV is upgrading its playout service from standard to high definition (HD) in partnership with satellite operator du.

aldafrah 10oct2017The move was announced by the two companies at the GITEX technology show in Dubai. The broadcaster is already a customer of du, which provides HD satellite capacity for free-to-air content in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

Du’s services for the broadcast industry include satellite, playout, video fibre connectivity and over-the-top (OTT) video. It currently serves 170 TV stations.
