RCN Television will launch a third free-to-air (FTA) channel in Colombia focused on children’s programming.

tacho pistacho 06 october 2017The HD DTT signal, Tacho Pistacho, will premiere on 9 October, increasing RCN’s portfolio in the country to seven linear channels (including the four pay-TV networks of RCN Novelas, Win Sports, RCN Nuestra Tele and NTN 24).

The new channel, which will only be available through DTT, will broadcast children’s programming 24/7, including shows like Chica Vampiro, El Chavo del Ocho, Caillou, Sabrina, El Inspector Gadget, Arthur, La Pequeña Lulú and ZabooMafoo.

According to the media company, the network aims to address the entertainment needs of Colombian families, offering an alternative TV channel with a safe framework for parents and kids.

Owned by Organización Ardila Lülle, RCN is one of the main private TV groups in Colombia, along with Caracol TV, and has video operations running in 50 countries. Besides, it currently has content partnerships with Spanish-language TV leaders such as Televisa, Univision, Venevisión and Atresmedia.
