Sony Pictures Networks (SPN) India is to broadcast matches from the forthcoming FIFA U-17 World Cup in English, Hindi and Bengali, as well as bring back its flagship analysis show.

FIFA U17 World Cup cover photo 660x315The TV network is planning to highlight the 22-day event, to be staged in India across three channels, with live broadcasts and the return of its studio show, Football Extraaa, which was previously shown during the UEFA Euro 2016 competition.

Football Extraaa will be hosted by presenter Seema Jaswal, with international panellists comprising Spain’s Luis Garcia (formerly of Barcelona and Liverpool), Stuart Pearce (ex-manager of the England U-21 team) and David Moyes (former coach of Everton and Manchester United). Indian experts include former captain of the national team Padma Shri Bhaichung Bhutia; current captain of India Sunil Chettri; and former national team footballer Renedy Singh.

“With in-depth analyses and renowned football experts’ comments, we promise to provide an unparalleled sports viewing experience that appeals to our audience, both football fans and bench viewers, in the Indian subcontinent.”

The tournament, which runs from 6-28 October 2017, features 24 teams playing across six venues in India. It will air in English on Sony TEN 2, Sony TEN 2 HD, Sony ESPN and Sony ESPN HD. Hindi and Bengali language feeds will be found on Sony Ten 3 and Sony Ten 3 HD.
