Qatar satellite company Es’hailSat has extended its agreement with Doha-based Al Rayyan Media to carry TV channels and radio stations to viewers across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

From its orbital location of 25.5° East, Es’hailSat 1 will transmit the TV channels Al Rayyan HD and Al Rayyan SD as well as their sister channel Al Rayyan 2 HD, which is already broadcast from the satellite. Radio stations Sout Al Rayyan and Sout Al-Islam will also be made available for listeners across the Arab world.

Al Rayyan’s free-to-air Arabic channels carry programming highlighting Qatari culture, tradition and religion as well as entertainment, business, lifestyle, sports and shows aimed at women and children.

“We are delighted that Al Rayyan Media has chosen to consolidate all of their TV and radio channels on Es’hail-1 satellite. We have a very good relationship with them and have been broadcasting their HD channel on our satellite for the past few years. With further consolidation within the industry expected, Es’hailSat is ideally positioned with optimum solutions and appropriate facilities to support broadcasters in MENA with high quality services,” said Ali Ahmed Al Kuwari, president and CEO, Es’hailSat.
