Communications and media services firm Arqiva has expanded its agreement with satellite operator AsiaSat to deliver sports, news and live events to TV viewers across the Asia Pacific region.

Arqiva satellite dish 14 Sept 2017The UK company will continue to use the AsiaSat 5 satellite to deliver sports coverage to Asian viewers and also gains new Ku-band capacity on AsiaSat 7 to distribute live events and provide other occasional use with the deployment of smaller antennas.

“In addition to our continued commitment to provide services in the Asia Pacific region, this lease extension with AsiaSat gives Arqiva and our customers true flexibility for future live events. Our on-going strategic partnership with AsiaSat reinforces our commitment to providing premium occasional use services in the market,” said David Crawford, MD, satellite and media, Arqiva.
