Keeping up with the new season, Mediapro and LaLiga have announced the roll-out of new broadcasting technologies, including a 4K and 360º boost, along with an increased international TV footprint.

During the 2017/2018 campaign, LaLiga will be adding real-time statistics to its broadcasting offering, including in-game performance stats and 3D graphics from ChyronHego. At the beginning of the week, the competition also announced the launch of the LaLiga Official Data Centre to maximise the value of games data.

Regarding video, up to two games per match day (including every FC Barcelona and Real Madrid fixture) will be produced in 4K quality. Also, a permanent aerial camera has been installed at nine stadiums and new high-speed cameras have been placed in the corners of the fields.

The 360º-technology partnership with Intel that kicked off last season will be expanded this year. As a result, Sevilla’s and Atlético de Madrid’s stadiums will have the innovative replay technology along with the Camp Nou and Santiago Bernabeu.

As for international broadcasters, LaLiga has announced the launch of a globally distributed channel offering day-long, fully scripted programming dedicated to the football competition, in full HD.

The network includes commentaries both in English and Spanish. The Spanish football league will also produce its first English-language live studio show, analysing the round of fixtures ahead before the first game of each week.
