Lip Sync Battle is set to become Viacom International Media Networks’ (VIMN) first format licence sale in India, following a deal with FremantleMedia and Star India.

Lip Sync Battle US 8 Sept 2017Produced by Fremantle Media, the local version of the celebrity reality show will be known as Lip Sing Battle in India. It will air in a prime time slot on both Saturdays and Sundays beginning this autumn on Hindi general entertainment channel Star Plus, from the 21st Century Fox-owned network Star India.

“We are thrilled to partner with FremantleMedia to create a Hindi version of Lip Sync Battle. Breaking into the competitive Indian market is testament to the universal appeal of the format, which has had people laughing and gasping the world over since it first launched in 2015,” said Laura Burrell, head of formats, International Programme Sales, VIMN.

“With a number of Bollywood stars already lining up to take part in the show, we can guarantee that this colourful adaptation is certainly going to have the ‘wow factor’!”

We hope that the viewers have as much fun watching it as we have had producing it for Star Plus.”
