As part of its current expansion plans, European IP-based premium TV services provider Altibox has deployed Mediamorph’s cloud-based platform to power the video-on-demand (VOD) value chain for its current and next-generation TV on-demand services.

mediamorph 30aug2017Delivering Internet, TV and telephony services over fibre optic cable since 2002, Altibox currently has 120 employees working in Stavanger, Norway. 40 partners in Norway and Denmark deliver Altibox fibre-based services to over 460,000 private customers. This summer Altibox launched a next-generation 4K/Ultra TV on-demand service.

Altibox’s services encompass transactional video-on-demand (TVOD), electronic sell-through (EST) and subscription VOD (SVOD) and the company found that manual processes to manage the supply chain simply were not keeping up given the growth in viewers, contract complexity, titles, user devices and platforms.

Mediamorph’s suite of products see use in streamlining the end-to-end content flow, from receiving titles and rights from content owners and third-party vendors, to pushing content to its storefront to calculating supplier settlement payments. Altibox has deployed several Mediamorph modules: connect data management, digital deals, offer management, digital supplier payments, and analytics. The integrated modules serve as the core data engine to Altibox’s content flows, connecting to all of its critical TV platforms.

“The rapid adoption of our service has been tremendous, but to get us to the next level of growth, we needed to look at those areas that were holding us back,” explained Altibox head of content and product strategy Hans-Bjarne Solheim. “The Mediamorph platform, which stood apart from other industry solutions, provides us the insight and control needed to meet our growth and revenue goals.”
