Instead of entering a price war with Orange over La Liga, Vodafone Spain is adding extra value to its football package while retaining a more profitable end-user price.

vodafone futbol 10 august 2017The British telco will deliver two La Liga games per week in 4K quality (always including those played by Real Madrid and FC Barcelona), and will include Formula One and Moto GP coverage for free until the end of the year.

The additional content will be available for all current Vodafone Futbol customers as well as new subscribers. The package, which also includes the UEFA Champions League and Europa League, will cost €20 per month throughout the season.

This price doesn’t come close to the €1 monthly price announced by Orange TV at the beginning of the week, an offer available for the operator’s Cine and Series premium pay-TV subscribers.

A similar move is expected by Telefónica’s Movistar+, Spain’s largest operator, which hasn’t yet announced any changes to its current football offering.
