Spain’s Movistar+ and the BBC have extended their content agreement for two more years, including exclusive BBC Earth premieres.


bbc movistar 05 august 2017The renewed deal will see the premiere of Blue Planet II in autumn 2017. Telefónica’s pay-TV platform will exclusively air the awaited documentary series following the format’s worldwide release.

The BBC content, which is to air on Movistar+’s in-house channel #0, also includes the three-episodes series Mountain, Inside the human body and Animals with Cameras. In 2018, the network will air Dinasty and Rituals.

Under the terms of the agreement, Movistar+ has also gained rights over the BBC Earth brand, enabling the company to create a specific content block with the documentary series. All the titles will also be available on Movistar+’s video-on-demand (VOD) platform.
