The renewed deal will see the premiere of Blue Planet II in autumn 2017. Telefónica’s pay-TV platform will exclusively air the awaited documentary series following the format’s worldwide release.

The BBC content, which is to air on Movistar+’s in-house channel #0, also includes the three-episodes series Mountain, Inside the human body and Animals with Cameras. In 2018, the network will air Dinasty and Rituals.

Under the terms of the agreement, Movistar+ has also gained rights over the BBC Earth brand, enabling the company to create a specific content block with the documentary series. All the titles will also be available on Movistar+’s video-on-demand (VOD) platform.
