Ghana’s new IPTV operator Ziptv has teamed up with MTN to offer premium channels and on-demand videos to the mobile operator’s customers.

Ziptv and MTN 20 JulyThe over-the-top (OTT) platform is a subsidiary of Broadband Home Ltd, Ghana’s first broadband wireless access provider which offers Zipnet and Ziptel communications services, as well as Ziptv.

Ziptv can also be accessed on mobile devices through a free app, as well as online or on connected TVs with an IPTV set-top box (STB), and offers around 50 linear TV channels from ABS Broadcast, including AMC Movies, AMC Series, CNN and BBC News.

Announcing the tie-up with the mobile operator, Ernest Obeng Yarfi, general manager for Broadband Home, said: “The service library allows MTN subscribers to enjoy live exclusive programmes, award-winning series, and first run movies. Subscription is easy and the packages are as low as Ghs1”.

MTN Ghana already streams Kwesé TV programming, including live action from the NBA, English Premier League football, Brazilian football and other sports leagues.
