PCCW Media’s Viu OTT video service has boosted its bouquet with premium Asian content with the addition of original productions which it says will be fresh, innovative and engaging to viewers in Southeast Asia.

viutvlarge 8july2017The Viu Original are designed to embrace the lifestyle of today’s viewers and the content showcases Chinese content from unique drama series, reality travelogues, culinary shows to infotainment talk shows by ViuTV, a domestic free TV service provider in Hong Kong.

After its recent launch in Thailand, the Viu OTT video service is now available in 15 markets across the region, including Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, India, Indonesia, the Philippines and the Middle East countries of Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and UAE. The new slate of programmes is available in Singapore and the Philippines immediately and will be progressively rolled out to Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand.

Viu Original Chinese content will include the much talked-about and popular contemporary drama series such as Margaret & David: Green Bean from ViuTV starring famous Hong Kong artiste Bowie Lam, which unravels typical complex relationships and love triangles of today’s world. Other content includes ViuTV’s adventure series 404 Countries Not Found, and Travel Stalker – Japan. Viu Original also includes culinary shows such as Colin’s Exotic Recipes which is filmed entirely on trying out different dishes based on the recommendations of nationals from exotic countries who reside in Hong Kong, while Go Green USA caters to the vegans and the show features journeys around various cities in the United States in pursuit of green lifestyle.
