Network-independent online video platform provider JW Player has released the latest version of its JW Live product, claiming to have given publishers the chance to change how they approach live streaming.

JW Live was first launched in November 2016 as a cloud-based live streaming service for publishers, offering its itself as an enterprise-grade live streaming product that was as simple to use as Facebook Live and YouTube Live. It is said to allows publishers to increase viewer engagement, create new channels and drive revenues, while requiring limited technical resources or know-how from users.

jwplayer 28june2017The upgrade now allows enterprise platform customers to have what is described as ‘push-button’ access to JW Live streaming features as part of their account with no additional platform fees or setup required. It also provides a workflow that allows non-technical content producers to configure an enterprise-grade live stream. With it, content producers can use a single dashboard to simulcast live video across a full range of social sites, including Facebook, Twitter and Twitch, company websites and mobile devices.

In a prime example of its capability, JW Player cited Emmy Award-winning DIY mainstay This Old House which used JW Live to create one-on-one interactions with the show’s hosts. The claimed result was that those participating in the live events and premium content subscription video-on-demand offering are consuming ten-times more video than non-participants.
