Sony Pictures Television Networks (SPT) Latin America has reached an agreement with Millicom’s Tigo to launch its video-on-demand (VOD) service Crackle.

Under the terms of the deal, which is similar to previous agreements reached in Latin America, only Tigo subscribers in Honduras will be able to subscribe to the VOD service.
“We are proud of being able to deliver Crackle and its comprehensive portfolio to our pay-TV subscribers, who will be able to enjoy the content anytime, anywhere,” said Luciano Marino, VP for cable operations, Millicom, Tigo’s parent company.
Tigo subscribers in Honduras will have access to Crackle’s iOS and Android apps bouquet, as well as through Apple TV and Chromecast platforms.
“This agreement shows how multi-platform operators have great interest in offering premium and original content, delivered by cutting-edge technology through a flexible platform,” added José Rivera Font, VP and GM, SPT Digital Networks Latin America.
