In an agreement that will see the global CE provider re-enter the Japanese market with entertainment products enhanced with its G-Guide, TiVo has renewed its multi-year product and intellectual property (IP) licence with Funai Electric.

“TiVo’s comprehensive entertainment discovery patent portfolio enables Funai to deliver advanced features and functionalities that make our products more competitive, while enhancing the entertainment viewing experiences for our consumers,” explained Funai Electric president Hideaki Funakoshi.

“This agreement enables Funai to deliver highly personalised entertainment discovery experiences to their customers in multiple regions,” added Michael Hawkey, senior vice president and general manager, user experience, TiVo. “It’s a testament to the strength of TiVo’s innovative technology portfolio in delivering the ultimate entertainment experience.”
