jaripeo mexicanal 06 june 2017The US Hispanic network, owned and operated by Atlanta-based Castalia Communications and Mexico City-based Innokap, aims to provide viewers with a richer experience of jaripeo, a popular sport among Mexicans.

Each show will be anchored by jaripeo expert Luis de A, who along with commentators Raul Cisneros and Raul Alcala will provide insights into each rider’s style and technique.

“For many Mexicans and Hispanics, jaripeo is an important part of their heritage, a tradition that is passed on from generation to generation, where men test and prove their courage by riding these beautiful animals,” explained Luis Torres-Bohl, president of Mexicanal and Castalia Communications.

“That’s why we are including this new production in the programming line-up of Mexicanal. We want to celebrate the brave riders and bring excitement to the viewing experience of our audience,” he added.

The television series includes 13 HD half-hour episodes in its first season, featuring 89 riders and 79 bulls from the leading breeders of Mexico’s state of Michoacan.

The episodes will air on Sunday’s prime time slot for subscribers on Comcast’s Xfinity, Charter’s Spectrum, AT&T U-verse, Mediacom, Frontier and Layer3services.
