Multimedia entertainment studio Electus has launched a new division that will create and produce new original content, as well as distribute and sell scripted and unscripted series throughout Latin America.

latam 19 may 2017In addition to creating new scripted and unscripted content, the new Electus Latino will also sell content from Electus International and its third-party partners, and acquire new formats from the region to develop and distribute globally.

Electus is expanding its reach into global markets as it brings major franchise titles to market this year, including Running Wild with Bear Grylls, Dating Naked and ABC’s The Toy Box. Electus Latino will be making these and other popular formats from the Electus catalogue available for immediate sales in the region.

Electus Latino will be based in Mexico City and be led by Paulette Bensussen. Bensussen began her career at BBC Worldwide and was a key player in the expansion of BBC programming footprint, as well as integral part of the team responsible for launching and managing the BBC/Discovery Joint Venture in Latin America, operating three pan-regional channels in the region. In 2001 she joined Scripps Networks as director of international operations and significantly expanded the company’s presence in international markets, increasing Scripps’ brand footprint to more than 130 new territories and negotiating revenue-sharing, production and JV agreements with broadcasters throughout Latin America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
