NEP the Netherlands and US infrastructure giant Juniper Networks are partnering to create an IP multi-camera production platform for TV.

NEP 16 May 2017NEP is using Juniper Networks’ QFX Series switching technology to deliver 4K video-on-demand (VOD), interactive split screen and 360° virtual reality (VR). NEP is combining this with its own technology, people and know-how to transition its production systems from a traditional broadcast Serial Digital Interface (SDI) environment to cloud-based, open-IP platforms. The result is a production environment that its clients can use to produce high-profile television events, such as the Oscars and the Olympic Games.

“The modern broadcasting industry is evolving very fast, and innovative companies like NEP are making the leap to a cloud production platform that helps its customers keep ahead of the technology curve,” said Denise Shiffman, senior vice president, product management, Juniper Networks. “Because NEP invests in the most advanced technical infrastructure to underpin its broadcast innovations, its customers’ viewers can have the highest quality TV experience.”
