Mediaset España has appointed Jaime Guerra as head of content production in a bid to reinforce in-house programming.

jaime guerra 10 may 2017Reporting to Manuel Villanueva, general manager of content, Guerra will strengthen Mediaset’s original content production unit, bringing over 20 years’ experience in the industry.

Guerra is leaving Grupo Secuoya, where he had been director of the fiction and entertainment content production unit since last summer, replacing Jorge Sánchez Gallo, who was promoted to general manager following Secuoya’s executive restructuring.

“The company is adding Guerra’s career experience to its business model of in-house content, the distinguishing feature of all its channels, especially Telecinco, the programming of which is 93% formed by independently produced formats,” said Mediaset España.

Prior to joining Grupo Secuoya, Jaime Guerra worked for Zeppeling TV since 2000, first as programming director and producer of reality series including the Spanish versions of Big Brother and Hell’s Kitchen, and as GM of the company since 2011.

At the beginning of his career, Guerra was part of the Mediaset team, working on the production of Telecinco’s Este País Necesita un Repaso and Aquí no Hay Duerma.
