CJ E&M is launching a feed of its regional linear channel tvN Asia for viewers in Singapore in May, following its addition on Hong Kong digital video platform myTV Super this month.
The channel from the South Korean media and entertainment conglomerate delivers episodes of first run K-dramas every week within 24 hours after their domestic premiere.
Singapore viewers will be able to watch suspense thriller Duel, by OCN, shortly after its premiere in Korea on 3 June 2017. Duel is directed by Lee Jong-jae (Another Miss Oh), written by Kim Yoon-joo (Nine: Nine Time Travels) and starring Jung Jae-young, Kim Jung-eun, and Yang Se-jong.
Later in 2017, tvN viewers will also be able to watch another K-drama, the anticipated fantasy romance Bride of The Water God, starring Nam Joo-hyuk and Shin Se-kyung. it was written by Jung Yoon-jung who ws also behind top-rated tvN drama Misaeng.
In Hong Kong, myTV Super is now providing viewers with the CJ Korean Entertainment Pack for a monthly fee of US$4.90, including CJ E&M subscription video on demand (SVOD) Zone and tvN channel. The over-the-top (OTT) platform from TVB now claims to have over 2.8 million users since its launch in 2016.
The move comes shortly after CJ E&M launched its tvN Movies channel in Malaysia on Telekom Malaysia’s HyppTV IPTV service.
