The first rounds of the NBA play-offs will be covered live in Latin America by DirecTV Sports and ESPN’s pay-TV and streaming channels.

nba espn directvDirecTV has announced that between 15 April-2 May a first batch of live NBA games will be shown on DirecTV Sports, the network’s streaming Web platform, and its mobile app will deliver up to 20 live matches, depending on how the qualifying round pans out.

The sports-themed network ESPN has presented a more comprehensive coverage of the playoffs’ first rounds, delivering live broadcastings of up to 30 games, including those from Golden State Warriors, LA Clippers or Memphis Grizzlies.

ESPN will also deliver all the games through pay-TV and via streaming through its WatchESPN site and app. In addition, the most important games will be available through the premium network ESPN Deportes+.

The network will extend NBA’s online coverage with video highlights and live statistics as well as email and mobile alerts. A special social TV coverage through Twitter will also be deployed.

The move follows DirecTV and ESPN’s strategy during the regular season which sees both networks sharing NBA’s broadcasting rights across Latin America.
