HBO is claiming record viewership for Cinemax’s new themed programming block Cinergía across the main Latin American markets.

the imitation gameCinergia placed the basic pay-TV channel among the 10 most-watched cable networks in Latin America during Friday prime-time. The blockbusters’ offering drove Cinemax to become the number 1 movie network in Chile, the third most-watched in Argentina, the sixth in Mexico, eighth in Colombia and ninth in Brazil.

Cinemax’s recently-premiered content block premieres Hollywood hits as an alternative to Friday nights programming. Titles like The Lego Movie, The Imitation Game, Inglourious Basterds, Mad Max and Interestelar have been broadcast by the channel.

As part of HBO’s most basic offer, the pay-TV network is widely available in Latin America. In addition to films, Cinemax also simultaneously premieres some of HBO’s most acclaimed series across the region, such as Game of Thrones and Girls.
