Comcast-owned Spanish-language terrestrial TV network Telemundo has announced Ricardo Coeto as EVP of production for Telemundo Studios.

telemundoIn the newly created role, Coeto will be responsible for oversight of the scripted productions of Telemundo Studios, as well as the weekend prime entertainment properties. Coeto will be based in Miami.

“Ricardo is an experienced production leader with deep knowledge of both the creative and business sides of the industry, and we are thrilled to welcome him to the team,” said Luis Silberwasser, president, Telemundo Network, Studios and Universo Channel. “His proven track record, creative approach and ability to manage all aspects of production will make him a great asset as Telemundo continues to grow, gaining the hearts and minds of Hispanic viewers with its innovative programming strategy.”

Coeto brings more than 20 years of media experience, having most recently served as director of production and new projects for TV Azteca, where he oversaw productions for the network, as well as the talent and technical services departments. He first joined TV Azteca in 2000 and previously worked as an executive producer and director of creative services. He has also served as Executive Director of Teran/TBWA and worked on independent productions in Spain, Argentina and the United States with various production houses, including Promofilm, Grupo Árbol, Nostromo, Telefe and Canal +.

Originally from Mexico, Coeto received his degree in Hispanic Literature from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. He is fluent in English, Spanish and Swahili.
