The BBC Player digital video platform has been introduced to Malaysia, after its initial launch in Singapore last year.

BBC Planet Earth II iconicThe subscription video-on-demand (SVOD ) service is available exclusively in Malaysia to subscribers of Telekom Malaysia’s IPTV service HyppTV.

Viewers have access to BBC World News, BBC First, BBC Brit, BBC Earth, BBC Lifestyle and CBeebies, as well as the latest series of Top Gear (season 24) straight after its transmission in the UK this month.

BBC Player will also deliver the new drama SS-GB, based on Len Deighton’s thriller, and the most recent Doctor Who series, along with Planet Earth II, The Great British Bake Off and The Graham Norton Show.

“To launch BBC Player in Malaysia so soon after its successful introduction to Singapore is testament to both the very high quality of this product and the digital demand for our programming. This latest launch clearly signals the potential for Player to offer something new to our partners and audiences in further markets,” said Paul Dempsey, president, global markets, BBC Worldwide.

The BBC Player is also available in Singapore on the pay-TV platform from StarHub.
