Pontis Technologies is to make Verizon Digital Media Services’ over-the-top (OTT) and content delivery network (CDN) services available to broadcasters and content publishers throughout Latin America.

verizon digital mediaUnder the multi-year agreement, the Uplynk Video Streaming service and Edgecast Content Delivery Network from Verizon will be integrated into the Pontis CloudTV platform.

“With the newly enhanced Pontis CloudTV platform, broadcasters, networks and content creators in Latin America will now have a simplified option to create and distribute online video,” said Ralf Jacob, president of Verizon Digital Media Services. "Just as importantly, they will also have access to the best network to reliably distribute digital media, at scale.”

The Uplynk Video Streaming service simplifies the video ecosystem by utilising one simplified workflow to ingest, format and insert targeted ads, and optimise the delivery of OTT content. In addition, the Edgecast CDN serves as the foundation to deliver content reliably and securely anywhere in the world.

Through this move, Verizon Digital Media Services continues to make significant long-term investments in Latin America after launching six new points of presence in the region during 2016.
