Subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) giant Netflix has announced the release date for Las Chicas del Cable.

chicas del cableThe series, the first made-in-Spain Netflix Original, will be premiered worldwide on 28 April.

Co-produced with Bambu Producciones, Las Chicas del Cable is set in Madrid during 1928, where the national telephone company opens its headquarters and hundreds of girls queue up to get a job as a “cable girl” in the only place that represents progress and modernity for women at the time.

Four girls (played by Blanca Suárez, Nadia de Santiago, Ana Fernández and Maggie Civantos), who all come from very different backgrounds, start work as operators, developing a plot of jealousy, envy and betrayal mixed with the hunger for success, friendship and love.
