US broadcaster Scripps Networks Interactive has appointed two regional directors for its International Programme Licensing division.

scripps networksElise Ching has been promoted to director, Program Licensing, Asia, and Gerbrig Blanksma joins Scripps Networks as director, Program Licensing, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Both positions will report to Hud Woodle, VP, Program Licensing, International, who is based in New York City.

“I wanted to create a strong and dynamic team dedicated to expanding our reach around the world,” said Woodle. “Elise and Gerbrig bring extensive industry experience and key relationships with regional partners which will be integral as we introduce our content and brands in untapped territories.”

Based in Singapore, Ching joined Scripps Networks in 2013. In her new role, she is responsible for defining and executing the programme sales growth strategy across Asia. In her previous position as programme acquisitions director, Ching was responsible for identifying new programming and commissioning opportunities while supporting ad sales growth and business development goals across the region. Before Scripps Networks, she worked for the Asian Food Channel (acquired by SNI in 2013), Seven Network in Australia and Sony Pictures Television Networks Asia.

Blanksma will join Scripps Networks at the end of the month, based in London. She will be responsible for creating a licensing strategy for new commercial opportunities as well as identifying new business opportunities across EMEA. Blanksma hails from Off The Fence, where she most recently served as vice president of sales and business development, responsible for executing the company’s sales strategy across Africa, Asia Pacific, Benelux and Scandinavia.
