Blockbuster films, comedy, music videos, devotional content and children’s animations will all feature on the new VOD service.

Available for direct-to-home (DTH) subscribers initially, the Hathway Special on-demand streaming service will be offered as a free 30-day trial from 9 February. After that, it will be priced between INR15 to INR60 per service, per month.

The service comprises Bollywood movie premieres on MiniPlex, new and classic comedy shows and clips on Comedy Wala, classic titles on Lamhe Movie, and fun learning and engagement for kids on Yippee. In addition, devotional services Garv Shree Swaminarayan, Om Shakti and Ibaadat will be offered on Hathway Special, along with classical music service InSync.

Hathway says it plans to expand its reach and viewership in the months ahead, aiming to provide at least 30 offerings on its non-linear video service. Localised content and varied genres will be a major focus for the platform.
