Thanks to VSN technology, together with the private cloud service offered by Andorra Telecom, RTVA expanded its existing VSNExplorer media assets management (MAM) solution to automatically control and store all audiovisual files in both its physical archive and in the cloud.

The public channel can now retrieve all content saved in the archive and work with it in a quicker and more efficient way, as well as having the ability to preview videos stored and work with them in low resolution.

“The digitisation of historical archives is an unavoidable task for television and radio channels alike, not only for obvious reasons of security and conservation, but also for the monetising of all the audiovisual files owned by these companies,” said Aaron López, COO, VSN. “The most valuable assets that media companies possess are certainly their historical archives, and at the end of the day we also need to ease the access to all this content as much as we can for all professionals.”

The cloud service represents a further step in RTVA and VSN’s ongoing relationship, as the public broadcaster has been using VSN’s broadcasting technology for the last two decades.
