TV18 Broadcast’s board of directors has approved the amalgamation of four of the Indian media network’s subsidiaries.

CNBC TV18 logoA subsidiary of media conglomerate Network 18, TV18 Broadcast operates the CNBC news channels CNN News18, and Hindi channel News18 India, among others. TV18 also operates a joint venture with Viacom called Viacom18, which broadcasts a range of general entertainment channels including Colors, Rishtey, MTV and Nickelodeon. The factual entertainment channel History TV18 is also operated as a joint venture with A+E Networks.

“The board of directors of TV18 at its meeting held on 14 January 2017, on the recommendation of the Audit Committee, approved the scheme of amalgamation of the direct or indirect wholly-owned subsidiaries of the company, namely Equator Trading Enterprises, Panorama Television, RVT Media and ibn18 (Mauritius), into TV18 Broadcast with appointed date as 1 April 2016, under the applicable provisions of the Companies Act, 2013,” the company said, in a Bombay Stock Exchange filing.

The completion of TV18 Broadcast’s amalgamation scheme is subject to necessary regulatory approvals.
