Telco Ooredoo is adding SPI International’s 4K channel Funbox UHD to its Internet protocol television (IPTV) bouquet in Qatar.

FunBox UHD TV SPI IntlThe global general entertainment channel carries native Ultra HD documentaries on nature, wildlife, society, music videos, sports, and arts and culture, with programmes such as cinematic opera La Boheme and The Sea Chef – hosted by two Michelin-starred chef Ángel León around the Spanish coast.

“We are glad to bring the Ultra HD channel to viewers in Qatar,” said Murat Muratoglu, SPI’s head of distribution for the Middle East. “It is important for us to expand our UHD distribution footprint into new markets such as Qatar following our recent launches in Romania, Portugal, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Turkey.”

SPI said in a statement that Funbox UHD would provide all Ooredoo subscribers with visual content, more detail, contrast dynamics and extended colours.
