Spain’s public broadcaster RTVE is to launch a live show through its social media feeds at the same time as its regular coverage of the New Year’s Eve countdown.

youtubers rtveThe project is designed and produced by Multiplatform Content (MC), a Madrid-based digital production house which specialises in branded content.

For the first time, two Spanish YouTubers will present a live parallel show targeting millennials and generation Zs. Andrea Compton and Alex Puértolas will lead a 100% digital and social coverage of the traditional last 12 strokes of the year from Madrid’s Puerta del Sol square.

With Campanadas YouTVE, the public broadcaster says that it is pushing innovative formats and content and consolidates its digital footprint.

The social TV broadcast is the last project in a list of digital initiatives developed by RTVE during 2016, including virtual and augmented reality and online and mobile productions.
