The audiovisual department of Spain’s public broadcaster RTVE is to produce five interactive Web documentaries.

web docs rtveThe Factoría de Webdocs initiative is the last of several projects aimed at innovating content production, such as the virtual reality (VR) app launched for Rio 2016 and the transmedia strategy deployed for some of RTVE’s series earlier this year.

According to the public broadcaster, the unit is to premiere the first documentary before the end of the year and will produce four more interactive pieces during 2017.

Que Tiemble el Camino, co-produced with Barret Films, will give viewers an insight into the experience of people suffering Parkinson’s disease. The Web documentary will premiere through RTVE’s website before the end of 2016.

Sexo, Maracas y Chihuahuas, co-produced by Minimal Films, Bugarach: Cómo sobrevivir al fin del mundo (Nanouk Films), Aunque Tú No lo Sepas (Por el amor al arte) and Guerra a la Mentira (En Portada) are the four other interactive formats which will premiere during 2017.
