After five years on air, Canal OFF is premiering a subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) documentary and film platform in Brazil.

canal off playThe Globosat channel will enable subscribers from América Móvil’s Net, Telefónica’s Vivo and Oi to watch its own original productions before they premiere on linear TV. Following a pay-per-view model Canal OFF Play will allow unlimited viewing in the 48 hours following purchase.

Among the movies and documentaries initially available is View From a Blue Moon, a film entirely produced in Ultra HD about John John Florence, winner of 2016 World Surf League.

The platform, available for several mobile and connected devices, will also premiere movies including We Are Blood, Unreal, The Fourth Phase and Made Chapter Two.

The linear channel and some of its VOD portfolio are also available through Globosat Play, the company’s main streaming and over-the-top (OTT) platform.

Globosat has announced it is to increase its OTT footprint in 2017, starting with the standalone launch of the VOD service Telecine Play.
