Discovery Communications has launched DNews en Español, bringing its first digital native YouTube channel to Spanish-speaking viewers across the globe.

dnews espanolDNews en Español, presented by Discovery’s online brand Seeker, will deliver short-form explainers from medical breakthroughs to science discoveries. The online network is available worldwide, but specially targets online viewers in Latin America, the US Hispanics and Spain.

“Seeker is committed to programming content that inspires bright, curious minds globally. DNews en Español is the perfect way to take our existing powerful franchises and make them even more accessible for our audience and future fans,” said Suzanne Kolb, EVP & GM, Discovery Digital Networks.

Launched in 2012, DNews original channel has delivered more than 400 million videos to date. DNews en Español now aims to perform in a similar way with Spanish-speaking audiences by delivering a rich offer of material through several weekly episodes.

Initial programming available on DNews en Español includes: Why Parents Should Stop Spoiling Their Kids; What Happens When a Fly Lands on Your Food; and What Really Happened to Cause the Extinction of the Dinosaurs, among other short-format videos.
