Verizon is adding casting to its Go90 mobile video platform, along with other enhancements allowing users to send Go90 content to larger screens via set-top devices like Apple TV and Google Chromecast.

The new version will also do away with requiring registration to watch videos, although viewers will need to sign in to comment on or favourite videos.
Despite the changes, some are skeptical of the service’s outlook. “We remain convinced that Go90 has an uphill battle if it is to become a meaningful competitor to the established mobile video and social networking leaders, namely YouTube, Facebook, Instagram (owned by Facebook), Snapchat, Netflix and Hulu,” UBS analysts said in a recent report.
