Having already been deployed by the US’ Major League Baseball Advanced Media and Fox Sports, Telefónica has announced the major launch of its TokBox solution for mobile and interactive broadcasting.

tokbox telefonicaThe platform allows media organisations to create and host their own video-enabled talk shows on mobile and Web, with broadcast quality scale and reach.

In addition to the white label platform for Web and mobile sites, the TokBox solution includes APIs and SDKs for a fully customised experience on Web, Android and iOS devices.

TokBox, which was acquired by Telefónica in 2012, has already been selected by the Major League Baseball in the US to power its live video talk show, Chatting Cage, and by Fox Sports to support its interactive web video show Huddle.

“The live mobile video audience is just getting its first taste of what real interactive fan engagement looks like, and the TokBox media platform offering will enable producers to deliver experiences that have previously been unavailable,” commented Scott Lomond, CEO of TokBox. “The value of true video call-in chat functions for live and Web video producers delivers a powerful experience that produces the kind of engagement that brands and advertisers have sought for years.”
