In preparation for the expansion of its video-on-demand (VOD) service HBO Go, HBO is readying the structure, team and brand of its Spanish operation.
Although there has been no official announcement, HBO is looking for executives to lead the Spanish unit, which has already been established in Madrid.

HBO is looking for both a retention project manager and digital marketing manager for the first steps of the Spanish operation, which will formally become a subsidiary of HBO Nordic.

According to job offers posted on the company’s LinkedIn profile, the streaming service will be named HBO España, and is described as a premium subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) platform, which will offer series including Game of Thrones, True Detective and Girls in addition to classics like The Sopranos and Sex and the City.

HBO España will also “offer brand new premieres from other major broadcasters as well as an exciting selection of movies from Hollywood, international film studios, local distributors and independent companies”.

The US company, which announced in January the plans to start HBO Go’s European expansion in Spain, will lead the new units from HBO Nordic, a service established in 2012 in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.
