Bringing the total offering of channels offered by Amazon’s platform to 75, the TVPlayer Plus pay-TV streaming service has now launched on to Fire TV.

The move means that Amazon Fire TV users can now sign up for 19 premium channels with live and catch-up TV options.

Channels include Lifetime, HISTORY, H2, Crime + Investigation, Discovery, TLC, Investigation Discovery (ID), Animal Planet, Discovery Turbo, Eurosport, National Geographic Channel, Nat Geo WILD, Sony Channel, Sony Movie Channel, Boomerang, Cartoon Network, Cartoonito and BabyTV.

Launched in December 2013, TVPlayer is owned and operated by Simplestream and is available on a white-label basis both in the UK and internationally. Fire TV has quickly become Amazon’s top-selling device family, and the Fire TV Stick has become Amazon’s fastest-selling device ever.

“TVPlayer is one of Amazon Fire TV’s most popular Entertainment apps,” said Lewis Arthur, operations director of TVPlayer. “It has proved to be extremely popular with Fire TV customers since it launched in the UK and has received a further boom in the number of users since the launch of Fire TV Stick and pre-Christmas. We are extremely excited about the launch of TVPlayer Plus on Amazon Fire TV.”
