Hong Kong’s largest pay-TV and over-the-top (OTT) service provider now TV has entered into a partnership with subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) leader Netflix to provide the latter’s content via all-in-one IPTV/OTT set-top boxes (STBs).

NOW TV YouTubeNetflix content will be available from the second quarter of 2016, including original series such as Master of None, Marvel’s Daredevil, Marvel’s Jessica Jones and Orange is the New Black as well as a variety of documentaries and feature films.

The deal makes now TV makes the first broadcaster in Hong Kong to provide the best large screen experience for Netflix via its STBs and now one 4KTV all-in-one appliance, said Loke Kheng Tham, executive vice president of pay-TV for now TV owner PCCW . “now TV has a track record of innovation and commitment to satisfying the diverse viewing habits of our customers,” she remarked. “Integration of Netflix into our service demonstrates our firm commitment to offering the widest possible range of content and functionality to our customers. We have long been proud of providing the widest range of first-run US, UK and Asian dramas, along with award-winning local and international movies to now TV customers with our leading content partners. We look forward to forging a great partnership with Netflix as we continue to bring the best of premium entertainment to the benefit of Hong Kong viewers.”

Added Netflix global head of business development Bill Holmes: “Partnering with now TV is going to be an important component of Netflix growth in Hong Kong.
