The 2btube platform for YouTube creators has strengthened its recently launched Latin American operation by appointing Hugo Tapia as country manager for Mexico.

“Now that we are established in Spain, it’s the perfect time to strengthen our position in Latin America and to become the largest digital talent network in Mexico,” said Bastian Manintveld, 2btube's executive chairman.

Tapia will be based at the Mexico City office, which opened last summer with the aim of becoming a springboard for Latin American online video talent.

In his former position as senior director of video-on-demand (VOD) and programming at HBO Latin America, Tapia was in charge of sales and distribution of original content. He was also responsible for developing the company's on-demand platform as well as making digital platforms distribution deals across the region.

2btube is a multi-channel network (MCN) dedicated to Spanish-language online video content within YouTube's borders, managing both talent and production.
