DLT Entertainment has appointed Kris Slava as its senior sales consultant, focused on the United States.

Slava will be based in New York and will be charged with increasing distribution of DLT’s finished programming slate in the US with a remit to focus on cable channels, commercial syndication as well as digital and streaming services in the market.

DLT’s programming slate includes iconic US sitcoms such as Three’s Company (which was based upon Thames TV’s Man About the House) and DLT’s own productions, including My Family and As Time Goes By.

“Kris is a rare breed, having worked as a network executive on the commissioning side, a creative and a sales agent,” said Don Taffner Jr, president, DLT Entertainment. “We are delighted that he has joined us as we continue to grow our business in the US and look to new growth opportunities in the international market.”

Slava added: “I am excited to be joining DLT Entertainment which has a strong and respected heritage in producing and distributing world-class content. I look forward to working on growing the business in the US.” The exec has held senior posts at US networks including A&E, Bravo and Ovation, where he was SVP of programming and production.

DLT Entertainment is in the process of developing a UK version of smash hit Scandinavian drama Nurses, following a deal with Swedish distributor Eccho Rights. The series explores the professional and personal lives of four female colleagues who cope in different ways with the challenges of working on a trauma ward.
