HBO's expansion plan for its streaming platform HBO GO will take its next Latin American steps in Argentina and Brazil before the end of the year.

hbo goThe US media company has announced that HBO GO will be offered as an over-the-top (OTT) platform for connected screens and not as a complement to a pay-TV subscription.

As a part of a worldwide strategy which kicked off with HBO GO's US launch as a standalone service, the platform is being premiered in many territories, with Latin America being a priority. Indeed, the OTT service is already available in Colombia and Mexico.

In both Brazil and Argentina, HBO GO will deliver video-on-demand (VOD) content based on HBO and MAX premium programming, making it available anywhere, any time.

Prices haven't yet been unveiled, although the company stated they will be similar to the HBO/MAX pay-TV subscription. The platform will be available through a broadband plan, but no telecom partners have been announced so far.
