AccuWeather has added personalisation to its mobile and digital platforms, in partnership with Rubric.

AccuWeather has the No 1 mobile weather website in the world, and nearly two-thirds of and AccuWeather app users residing outside of the United States. The new capabilities tailor its communications to users based on location, device, language needs and preferences, and partners with Rubric to provide weather forecasts in more than 100 languages and dialects.

"AccuWeather keeps users informed and safe on their journeys through hyper-localised, personalised weather forecasts with superior accuracy," said Trish Mikita, vice president of Digital Media Strategy at AccuWeather. "Our partnership with Rubric helps AccuWeather to provide customised weather information and updates that users rely on, whenever and wherever they need it."

Rubric offers language translation and localisation services, selected to customise AccuWeather's content for an international audience through localised languages and dialects, in addition to user interfaces and sourcing the best fit each market's needs. Utilizing their project management capabilities, Rubric also guided AccuWeather through the multilingual design, optimisation, and expansion process.

The company collaborated with translators and developers to make sure source code, copy and interfaces were built accurately across different language markets.

The cable network recently announced a record-breaking increase in video views for 2015 on its digital platforms: a 300% jump compared with prior-year results.
