Univision has selected NeuLion's digital platform to power Now, its new direct-to-consumer over-the-top (OTT) video service.

Launched on desktop, smartphones and tablets, the live and on-demand multi-channel service offers live video streams of Univision's channels directly to consumers through a subscription.

The NeuLion digital platform is used to deliver local and national feeds for the Univision and UniMas networks, including local feeds across several markets, a 72-hour live TV look-back feature, and a library of prime time video-on-demand (VOD) content.

Out of the box, the platform provides live ad insertion, TV everywhere authentication, and Nielsen, FreeWheel and Omniture integration. The platform supports adaptive streaming video with resolutions up to 4K.

“NeuLion handled all the complexities inherent to launching an OTT service and got Univision Now to market in record time,” said Kanaan Jemili, NeuLion CEO.

“NeuLion's turnkey solution is ideal for reaching our target audience on as many screens as possible with a great user experience,” added Scott Levine, senior VP for product and technology, Univision.
